Here's a link to my YouTube vid addressing covid-19 considerations for first aid.
Coronavirus Covid-19 has us rethinking wilderness, travel and SAR First Aid in the field. Distancing isn't really possible when providing direct care for a car crash or climbing accident victim. Beyond the ethical concerns, the first question is one of safety for the First Aiders followed by bystanders and the victims. Another concern is that as EMS response times get longer and hospitals fuller because of overwhelmed systems, first aid becomes more and more important and more and more risky with Covid-19 running by-and-large unchecked because of severely inadequate test and trace in the U.S. More important and more risky.
This video addresses some basic strategies that may help with this dilemma.
